REMEMBER MKS THIS GIVING TUESDAY!
With Black Friday, Small Business Saturday, and Cyber Monday, we realize that there is a lot this week that desires your attention. We hope you especially note #GivingTuesday.
#GivingTuesday is a global day of giving that harnesses the collective power of individuals, communities, and organizations to encourage philanthropy and to celebrate generosity worldwide. This year, #GivingTuesday occurs on November 27th, 2018.
Every dollar you donate to the Make Keppel Special Foundation (MKS) goes directly to benefit the students of Mark Keppel VAPA Magnet. There is no middleman or corporation taking a cut of the donation. Your money supports our four amazing Resident Artists, additional Intervention Teachers that benefit the entire student population, and other art programs throughout the year which include: the 2nd and 3rd grade Theatre and Music Assembly, Spring Musical, Keppel Rocks the Arts Concert, 4th grade Silent Film Festival and Korean Drum Instruction for all 3rd graders.
With many schools cutting the arts entirely out of their curriculum, Mark Keppel is one of the few elementary schools to have the benefit of consistent arts education. Students involved in arts programs are three times more likely to be recognized for academic achievement. Art has also been shown to improve short and long term memory and help with dyslexia, motor skills and speech impediments. We hope that this #GivingTuesday, you consider making a donation to MKS so Keppel can continue these very important programs.
